When Kenny first contacted me about filming his wedding, I was flattered. I had filmed his sister’s wedding a couple of years prior and he told me how she raved about the job that we did, telling him “You have to hire these guys to videotape your wedding.” I knew we had big expectations.
Then he told me where they were getting married –St. Augustine’s, an ornate church in Elkridge where I had filmed a few wedding ceremonies before. I knew it was beautiful and I think you’ll see from some of the photos I was right.
But when he told me about the reception location, it was one I had never heard of before - The Great Room at Savage Mill. I’m embarrassed to say that not only had I not heard of the place, but I hadn’t heard of the city, Savage, MD,either.
Turns out, it was just as beautiful as the church. I guess it was an old mill. There were rustic buildings surrounding the mall-like Savage Mill and a cool bridge with old railroad tracks running down the center that had been preserved. It made for a great location and great wedding video footage for the happy bride and groom.
Now, I’ve heard of The Great Room at Savage Mill and I can’t wait to go back!
