For other couples, they want to create a wedding video that they’ll want to watch over and over so they get a package that includes a highlights reel – a film of their entire day put to music that usually is about 20-30 minutes long and is perfect for sharing with friends and family and for watching every year on their anniversary. Beginning with our Silver Package, you’ll get 3 DVDs of the highlights reel to go along with the DVD of the ceremony and the DVD of everything we shoot.

But the best part is, even if you start out with the Bronze Package, you have up to a year to decide if you want to upgrade to the Silver Package. Take for example, Matthew and Jenna, whose wedding video is featured here. They were married in September of 2010 and originally just went with the Bronze Package. Nearly a year later, Jenna called me and said “I always want to watch our wedding video, but Matthew doesn’t want to and that bothers me. Is there any way to get the highlights reel now?” My response: “Absolutely”. So, we did. And Jenna and Matthew were thrilled with the results and now they have their wedding day commemorated in a sort of music video that is a lot of fun to watch. Jenna is excited that they now have an encapsulated video that her and Matthew can watch together every year on their anniversary.

I didn’t see and wedding videographers or even photographers in the deals, but this is pretty cool. I’m not sure about videography, but I feel pretty certain that someone out there will soon start offering wedding photography discounts on one of these sites. It just seems like a natural fit, and in fact, I did see one for a photography portrait studio one day last week. Looks like it’s just a matter of time.

To address the question about putting VHS tapes on DVD,  this is a service that we offer,  but here is what I tell people. VHS degrades very quickly. If you have your wedding on VHS,  you know what I mean. You should always keep such media,  even DVDs,  stored in a cool,  dark place where moisture can’t get to it. That being said,  transferring your VHS tape to DVD will not make the quality better. What it will do is prevent the quality from getting worse so you should do it as soon as possible. It’s not very expensive;  We charge $60 per hour of VHS tape. More importantly,  it will prevent your wedding video from fading away,  which,  if you keep it solely on VHS will happen eventually to the point where the video will become unwatchable.

If you have to choose between the option of SD or HD,  which these days you shouldn’t have to (and videographers should not charge more for HD services either) ,  choose HD because the best quality any video can ever be is the original quality at which it is taped.
