It seems like ages ago that we used to film weddings in Harford County,Maryland every weekend. We were always traveling north from Baltimore County up to Joppa,Bel Air,Churchville, and Havre de Grace. St. Margaret,St. Ignatius,Bel Air United –we videotaped a lot of beautiful weddings up there. And some of our favorite venues like Swan Harbor,Top of the Bay,and Beachtree Golf and Country Club are up there too.
But we hadn’t really thought about how long it had been since we shot a wedding up there until Brooke and Craig asked us to create a wedding video for them and told us they were getting married in Harford County. Surprisingly,we had never filmed in the church,Trinity Lutheran off Mountain Road in Joppa,or at the reception location,Bulle Rock in Havre de Grace,Maryland. Both venues are amazing.
We were concerned about the church because their rules are pretty strict –filming from the church balcony only. We would never dream of getting on the altar during the ceremony –we try to be as unobtrusive as possible, but most churches let the wedding videographer shoot from the floor. We arrived an hour and a half ahead of time as always to check it out and pick the best spot for videotaping,It turns out Trinity Lutheran’s balcony is the perfect spot for shooting the vows and ring exchange because the way it is laid out gets the wedding videographer close to the action, but out of the way of everyone else. We got great video footage and crystal clear audio of the wedding vows and giving and receiving of wedding rings.
Bulle Rock was awesome too. Beautiful location that rivals anywhere in Baltimore,Montgomery,or Howard County as well as any place in Washington,DC. The place was stunning as were the bride and groom and we are so excited to get editing this wedding video because we know the bride and groom are going to flip when they see it.
